For 30 years Connie’s Cakes has been making the world a happier place, one cake at a time. This April the Eastown business is celebrating their anniversary.

“Connie’s Cakes was started by my aunt, Connie Hennip, in April of 1995,” said current owner Mary Scheidel. “I purchased the shop in 2010 when it was still in Cutlerville. We moved to Eastown in 2013.”

The cake shop is well known for its incredible custom cakes, including weddings, graduations, birthdays, showers and much more. Connie’s Cakes has been honored by The Knot, a national wedding planning service, with their Hall of Fame designation, a recognition that goes to less than 5% of wedding cake decorators across the country.

“As we celebrate 30 years in business, I can’t help but reflect on the joy of being part of so many love stories. I’ve had the privilege of turning dreams into reality. It’s an honor to play a small role in such a big day, and I look forward to many more years of making wedding dreams come true!” said Manager and lead wedding decorator Jennifer Lane.

In addition to custom cake orders, the shop also has cupcakes and cookies available for walk-in customers. Connie’s Cakes is open Tuesday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
